Cheater!
Requiem — Sun, 07/19/2009 - 11:07
It's not much, but an update for everyone out there. We've been working on a cheating interface within Softchip. Patching is simple enough to implement, however, we're looking for something that "feels" a bit more like old-school gameshark style cheat devices. The patch format will be compatible with ocarina, but our format will allow for a code's "enabled" state to be stored in the file itself and will not require a separate text file for storing codes. Nor will we require a separate application for editing these.
Upcoming revision

Over the past few days I've been examining the sources in their current state, and I've determined that it's time for a complete overhaul of the codebase. So I'm rewriting the code from scratch. This promises to be a rather difficult task as the DVD drive in my Wii is completely shot. In other worse, we'll need testers. Not just drooling "glad to have the software" testers, but patient testers who are willing to run revision after revision of broken, pre-alpha code. As soon as I can get funding to acquire a new "development" Wii, test compiles will be a nightmare for any of the disc-loading routines.
We're back!
Requiem — Mon, 07/06/2009 - 08:29
After a long hiatus due to a server crash, we're finally back up and running. On April 24, 2009 a power outage occurred at approximately 17:00 UTC that resulted in a complete loss of the hard disk on which our website was hosted. Unfortunately, filesystem corruption had somehow managed to sneak into the backups as well, so for a time, it seemed the project was doomed.
Thankfully due to the massive amount of support the community has offered, we've finally been able to continue where things left off. We've picked up a corporate sponsor to aid development of the software, who along with monetary contributions, have assigned their own team of developers to aid with the overall development process, server administration, graphic design, etc.
Looking forward, this should help us reach some of those "unreachable" goals we've had.
